23 March 2006 GORILLAZ TO SPLIT GORILLAZ, the virtual band started by Blur frontman Damon Albarn, are to split.
The Grammy, NME and Brit award-winning group, who also feature artist Jamie Hewlett, said they plan to break up at the end of the year after some live dates in the US - but they haven't ruled out a return in the future.
The band's first album went platinum while last year's Demon Days went in to the charts at No1. The next Gorillaz single will be El Manana/ Kids With Guns, to be released on April 10.
